What is In-Home Residential Support

Residential Support services consist of training and assistance and are provided primarily in an individual’s home.  DWS support counselors will :

  • enable the individual to acquire, improve, or maintain his/her health status
  • develop skills in activities of daily living (ADLs) and safety in the use of community resources
  • adapt his/her behavior to community and home environments.

The In-Home Residential Support Service is done on a 1 to 1 basis.  Matching the right counselor(s) to client is key to building a good relationship.  We strongly encourage family and agency involvement to help make a good match.  Once a counselor is in place, our goal is to have a seamless integration into the clients life, while having maximum impact.  We want to establish strong ties with the client and family, while meeting the goals of the Service Plan.
